 ABOUT US
The building housing the Carriage House Inn was built in 1857, and is on the National Registry for Historic Places. Originally the warehouse for the Maxwell and Zimmerman Feed Store, the building became a broom factory after the turn of the century, and later a bus depot.
The first restaurant to take up residence in the historic building opened in 1943, and was named The White House. Decades later, the building was purchased by the Hance family, and The Carriage House Inn was born. In 1998, JoAnn’s Ballroom was built on the second floor of the restaurant to accommodate receptions, banquets and business meetings. In 2001, the Tack Room—a smaller, more elegant area for private gatherings—was opened. 2006 marked our 20th year of serving the area’s dining and entertaining needs.
